The Melbourne Municipal Band (MMB) will celebrate 10 years under the direction of its talented conductor, Staci Rosbury, with two “Staci’s Top 10” concerts, on February 19 and 20, 2020, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Blvd. There is no charge and tickets are not required. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
“It’s been an amazing decade of music and I can’t believe it’s gone by so fast,” said Conductor Staci Rosbury. “We invite everyone to come and join us in this celebration of our ongoing commitment to giving the gift of music to our community.” Music will include some of Rosbury’s favorite selections from her tenure with the band, including Listz’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, Nestico’s Salute to American Jazz, and Grainger’s Handel in the Strand.
There will be a meet and greet with Rosbury after the concert. Pre-show entertainment will be provided by the Adagio Sax Quartet.
Rosbury joined the MMB in 2002 and was named conductor in 2010. Under her direction, the band’s membership has expanded and the MMB has impressed audiences
with its musicality and maturity. Rosbury also is Administrator of the Indian River Symphonic Association, managing a concert series of national and international orchestra performances. She plays flute with the Central Florida Winds and Chamber Winds. She has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Master of Music degrees from the University of Florida.
