Our members are quite diverse, from professional players to accomplished amateurs. We typically rehearse every Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. (unless it is a performance week). Rehearsals are held in the Julia D. Good Rehearsal Hall, 1924 Melody Lane, Melbourne, FL 32902. The rehearsal hall is directly behind the Melbourne Municipal Auditorium. Enter from Fee Avenue, next to the library.
If you are interested in playing with the Melbourne Municipal Concert Band, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be contacted by the section leader who will give you further instructions. We expect our players to have a minimum skill level. The section leader will determine if your skills are adequate to play with the band.
NEW HORIZONS BAND
Always wanted to play in a concert band? Now is the time! Adults of all ages are invited to dust off that old high school band instrument and join the New Horizons Band of Melbourne. Our group accepts all levels of musicianship from beginners thru professionals, with everybody enjoying the challenge of continuous improvement. Expect to be inspired, encouraged, and have loads of fun as you play a variety of music with our fun-loving conductor, Kurt Schulenburg. We meet Tuesdays from 9 am to 11 am at the Julia Good Rehearsal Hall behind the Melbourne Auditorium. And, from 11 until noon, we alternate Jazz Band and Music Techniques class.
For more info, contact Carolyn Schulenburg at 321-986-7782 or e-mail: email@example.com or visit our website at https://www.newhorizonsbandmelbourne.org.
If you would like to be a part of Melbourne Municipal Band's remarkable music scene, but playing an instrument is not your thing, join the team that works with the band and behind the scenes to provide a totally exciting experience for our audience.
The auxilliary are the ambassadors for the band: they meet & greet, run raffles, operate a snack bar, decorate, sell tickets, and organize exhibits and socials. They support all Melbourne Municipal Band and Swingtime events, and they need your help! Contact the Auxiliary President at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Another way to contribute behind the scenes is to join the library team. They handle hundreds of pieces of music each year. Keeping the folders up to date is a monumental task. Contact email@example.com if you would like to help.
MELBOURNE COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA
Many of our band members also participate in the Melbourne Community Orchestra, which rehearses in the Julia D. Good Rehearsal Hall. If you are interested in learning more about our local community orchestra, please go to mcorchestra.org. for more information.
